Northern Ireland has about a 50/50 ratio of Protestant and Catholics. The Republic of Ireland has about a 5% Protestant population.

2008 brought bad economic times but now it is undergoing a recovery.  Twenty years ago downtown Dublin had many buildings in disrepair, crumbling warehouses, etc. Now, Dublin is experiencing an economic boom. Brexit is expected to help Dublin – banks are coming back into the area.

Discover why Lonely Planet regards Belfast as one of the top 10 ‘must-see’ destinations on Earth. We strongly recommend the world famous Black Taxi tour (optional) to view the Peace Wall and political murals. Your driver will show you highlights of the city including City Hall, Queen’s University, Albert’s Clock, Botanic Gardens and much more. Tonight we stay in the charming University Quarter, a most lively area with great pubs and restaurants with plenty of choice and catering to all budgets. Live music venues are plentiful and Belfast is well known for its great nightlife.

Black Taxi tour Belfast: Hello (or as we say in Belfast what about yee!!) What better way to learn about our troubled past, than taking a taxi tour with one of our local guides. Our guides both Protestant and Catholic talk of personal experience of life living in Belfast during the height of the troubles.

Visit the neighbourhoods of the Protestant Shankill and Catholic Falls Road. There you will get to see the famous wall murals, that tell the story of the historical events of our troubled past and how we are moving forward with more peaceful than aggressive ones in the past. This is a totally unbiased account as both sides have suffered and how we all want to put our troubled past behind us. The political tour of west Belfast is must do for all visitors to our changing city.

As we say as much as you enjoy the tour it’s more of an education. There you will have plenty of photo opportunities to walk around and meet local people getting on with every day life.

You will also to visit the famous peacewall (2 miles long) that divides both communities and also sign your name as have many famous people. We have featured in many documentaries over the years, as well as the only Black Taxi Tour Company to be recommended in the Lonely Planet Travel book and other guide books throughout the world.

All tours can be tailored or extended to each individual’s requirements. Also enjoy the craic and banter of the Irish humour and listen to the stories we tell. You won’t be disappointed, I promise you that!!
